Review of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I'll first start off that I loved this movie a lot. I would also like to start that I wanted to cold clock the fuck out of this customer who mouthed off saying that even Cable Guy was better than this film (obviously referring to say that Cable Guy was bad enough, and This film was worst)

ESOTSM is basically a film that presents a relationship gone bad...backwards. Joel Parish is basically going about to erase any memory of his ex...Clementine. Now I can go on and on for visuals and how touching and heartwarming it is, but I won't. Because basically giving my approval, people should expect as much.

But what I would like to discuss the interesting idea of between fate and love. It's interesting that the end of the story isn't Happily ever after, but continuing a course that is needed.

What I found even more interesting was how the entire dynamic on how it makes you question whether or not there is a greater plan for everyone for their lives. It is very interesting that history repeats itself, despite the fact that we try to erase it from our memories. But is it just a back-up or reaffirmation that some meetings must occur, even if it's for the bad, in order to progress?

It does seem so, becaues even if we have bad memories, they are there for a reason. Even if after people somehow want to leave their memories behind, whether it be through denial or erasure, they still remember. Their bodies remember, their hearts remember.

It's also great that at only the beginning of the relationship that they realize...how much and how important the relationship was, and how they agree to go out together.
